What is Personal Information and why do we collect it?

Information we collect via our website and social media/eUpdate channels
We collect information in two ways when you choose to engage with the services provided on our online channels:

If you want to join our social media networks, we have access to your public profile, which may include your name and photo.
2. Information we receive from your interaction with our services (Aggregated information - collected in an anonymous form) - For example, we may identify the type of device you use to access our services, age, gender and interests through third-party vendors such as Google Analytics, Facebook Insights and Instagram Analytics.
If you access social media and subscription channels such as Instagram, Facebook, YouTube you should be aware that any information you post onto such media is available for the public to see. Sensitive Information
Sensitive information is defined in the Privacy Act to include information or opinion about such things as an individual's racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, membership of a political association, religious or philosophical beliefs, membership of a trade union or other professional body, criminal record, or health information.
Sensitive information will be used by us only:

• For a secondary purpose that is directly related to the primary purpose
• With your consent; or where required or authorised by law.
Data Quality and Security
While RISE™ takes reasonable precautions to protect the information it holds from unauthorised use, the nature of the information systems is such that the security of information cannot be guaranteed. RISE™ relies on commercially available technologies for the security of its information systems - this applies not only to RISE™ but to the use of online information security systems in general.
RISE™ relies on the information that users provide, and it is the users' responsibility to ensure that information they submit is accurate.
Website Usage Measurement
This website uses Google Analytics tracking code to understand how you are using the internet and the websites that RISE™ operates.
RISE™ and third-party vendors, including Google, use first-party “cookies” (such as the Google Analytics cookies) to retrieve statistics on how our visitors use the RISE™ website, social media, eUpdates, newsletter subscriptions, and other internet services provided including how long you are on those channels and how you entered the channel. Google Analytics cookies do not collect personally identifiable information about your visits to the website. They do however collect other non-personal information including your IP address which is transmitted to and stored by Google on servers in the United States. This information will help us understand and better meet our audience’s needs.
RISE™ also has other technologies in place that use cookies to allow the website to track personal usage information and 'remember' users when they return to this website and other online services provided by RISE™. No personal information will be collected through these processes.

How we use the information we collect
RISE™collects information (such as age, gender, and interests) in order to understand the type of information and activity you may choose to participate in when engaging with RISE™'s website content, social networks, eUpdates and other services. This information helps us to provide a better service, ensure content is relevant and improve how and when we communicate with you.
RISE™ will not merge personally-identifiable information with non-personally identifiable information collected via Google Analytics tracking code without your consent.
You can opt out of Google Analytics for Display Advertising using the Ads Settings and/or by using the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. Please note that if you opt out, you may not be able to use the full functionality of this website. Data storage
Please note that the personal information you submit using some of the services on our website (including Google Analytics and Newsletter Subscriptions) will be stored on secure databases which reside predominately in Australia, and in some cases, offshore. If you do not want your personal information being stored offshore, please do not submit personal information to us when you use any of the services on our website.
Access to and correction of personal information
